story of Lyme disease treatment
I have had symptoms of Lyme
disease for years but have not believed it could
really be a real disease for me. One doctor asked me
if I had ever been in the North East, then when I said
no, he said I could not possibly have it. A blood test
also showed negative results for it.
Since I was 16 (1960) I have experienced the symptoms
of Lyme disease but because Lyme was not discovered
until 1975 in Lyme Connecticut doctors would not believe
I could have contacted it in Boise, Idaho fifteen years
before it was discovered in Connecticut and so far away.
This leads the medical community to diagnose people
with the symptoms of Lyme disease as hypochondriacs
and they tell them that the symptoms are the result
of psychotic mental issues.
I can not answer why I have had symptoms of Lyme disease,
all I know is that I have had unexplainable strange
symptoms for years that had no explanation. Things like;
arthritis, joint pains, osteoporosis, head aches, depression,
mood swings, episodes of anger, suicidal thoughts, temporary
bouts of tremors, occasional facial twitching, temporary
bouts of chills, poor digestion and digestive problems
from diarrhea to constipation. The medical community
believes on with these types of symptoms are proof of
a hypochondriac and then discount that it can be a real
disease. This is one of the dangers of the so called
Because Lyme disease weakens the immune system and
the result is that it causes one to acquire other autoimmune
diseases. Celiac, Candida, Arthritis, Osteoporosis,
as well as type II diabetes, scientific researchers
claim can be the result of a weak immune system. If
one has any of these diseases it is hard to recognize
that Lyme may be the underlying cause.
The medicinal community has only one treatment for
Lyme disease and that is antibiotics. Yet antibiotics
are often ineffective especially when the disease has
been present for years . Antibiotics are reported that
they can be fatal for someone one who has had the disease
There are some on the internet who claim a dose of
sea salt and vitamin C can treat it. Most of them also
warn about the problems of herzheimers
reaction and to be careful about not pushing
it too fast.
I decided to try the sea salt treatment just to see
if it would really work for me. One site I came across
suggested a dose of 1 teaspoon with 1,000 mg of Vitamin
C daily. I do not like the after taste of taking sea
salt by tablespoon or mixing in water, so I make capsules
using 00 size capsules. I started with two capsules
of sea salt, 2,000 mg. Vitamin C and added 175 mg. of
Milk Thistle. I took this for four days and stopped
for three days to allow for herx. reaction to dissipate.
Then I started again with one 00 capsule of sea salt,
1,000 mg Vitamin C and 175 mg Milk Thistle for another
four days. By this time my herx. reactions was terrible
so I only took it for two days and two days off. Then
after three days resumed it on alternate days with occasional
two or three days between. My herx. reactions were so
so severe that some days I did not care if I lived or
died. One day I experienced chills and shakes so bad
that I wore my warmest winter coat (it was summer time)
and still shook and chilled for several hours. Over
the four weeks of this treatment my former rash reappeared,
I experienced many increased symptoms that I had had
at different times in the past.
What this proved to me is that I indeed do have Lyme
disease even though all tests and all doctors who refused
to believe it.
It also proved to me that the sea salt, Vitamin C and
Milk Thistle regiment is an effective treatment for
Lyme disease for me.
